Is it necessary to first complete the Vietnamese campaign in Men of War: Vietnam?
I am playing Men of War: Vietnam now, it is little difficult to play but it is really a very nice game. But, I noticed that in this game we have to first complete Vietnamese campaign first. I had bought this game, keeping in mind that I will play it for the America campaign. Bit, now it seems that they are forcing me to play as the Germans only in this world war two games. I hope that, anyone here knows a workaround for this.

So, in short you want to unlock the American campaign, right? It is possible in this game and also not very difficult. For that you just go to your user name folder and then browse till documents\my games\men of war\profiles\player or default\ and there you will find a file, game_progress.set. rename the file and don’t change its name just the extension to .txt so that you can edit it using notepad then when you open that file then just change the level to 3 and then save it and then again change its extension as it was, and that was .set. After that you can start playing with the American campaign. I think this is what you actually wanted to know. If you want to know anything else related to this then you can reply back again.

I had completed the first two mission of Vietnamese campaign, but as I wanted to get the American campaign, therefore I did what you said above. But I don’t know why, but after this I lost all my memory. Now, I am not able to continue until I have completed both of those missions again, though my saved games are still working. I don’t know what I missed while doing that. Are you sure that the method you suggested actually works.

Sorry about what happened to your all game progress. But, I will still say that, the method I suggested you, really works, because I have tried it with my game also, and therefore I suggested you also. Actually, as far as I know, it is the best way to make your game to be started from the American campaign since the start. If you want you can make use of Notepad++ to open it and change the starting level by renaming it from .set to .txt and vice versa, once you completed with editing.

Why to follow such a complex steps to do this. I have bit simpler method to play the US campaign from the start. The all you have to do is just to download and install hotfix. This can help you to start from the US campaign and I think this is the easier way to do this. Just give it a try, it will work for sure.
