Canon announces the release of the successors of the S5 IS: SX1 IS & SX10 IS. The first is the first bridge equipped with a CMOS sensor. The new imager can also shoot in high definition (Full HD 1920 x 1080 pixels) for 29 minutes. The zoom is a great piece of optics which corrects a flaw S5 IS: the absence of wide-angle. Thus, the two new bridges have a 20x zoom (28-560 mm) with an optical stabilization system.

Another good point, the SX1 IS is equipped with an LCD screen mounted on 2.8-inch ball and housing uses the latest technologies such as Canon iContraste (to balance the light areas and dark images), the Servo mode AF to track moving subjects. The rapid development is ensured by a new technology VCM (voice coil motor) normally faster. The burst mode reached 4 fps and SX1 IS is capable of hosting EX Speed lite flashes Cobra.

Canon today expands its range of PowerShot digital compact with the PowerShot SX1 IS and the PowerShot SX10 IS sensor 10 million pixels. These two powerful new models replace the PowerShot S5 IS.

Characterized by their incredible 20x optical zoom from wide angle to super TV (28-560 mm equivalent 24x36), a USM for a quick and quiet zooming and a new engine VCM (voice coil motor) to focus also silent Both models set new benchmark for potential zooming. The PowerShot IS SX1 incorporates a range of revolutionary features present for the first time on a compact Canon: Canon CMOS sensor 10 million pixels, shooting continuously to 4 frames per second and recording video clips in Full HD. Both PowerShot SX are equipped with the new Canon DIGIC processor 4 for a high reactivity and images characterized by an abundance of detail.
