Star Campus Receives LEED Gold Certification

AUSTIN, TX. - January, 2009 -AMD (NYSE: AMD) announced its Lone Star campus in Austin, TX has achieved a gold certification under the U.S. Green Building Council Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System™. Based on current certified projects, this is the largest gold certified LEED® commercial building in Texas.
The LEED Green Building Rating System is a nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction and operation of high performance green buildings. The gold rating is the second highest rating obtainable in the system, and recognizes performance in dozens of design metrics including site selection and organized around six key areas: sustainable site development, water savings, energy efficiency, materials selection, indoor environmental quality and innovative design.
"From the inception of the Lone Star project, AMD sought to set the standard for responsible development, and this award recognizes AMD's Austin campus as one of the greenest corporate facilities in the U.S.," said Allyson Peerman, vice president, Public Affairs, AMD.
