Google's Autopilot For Gmail And Gtalk
If you find it time consuming and tedious to respond to each and every email you receive, then Google has the perfect product solution for you. They launched GMail Autopilot this morning, which responds to your emails automatically based on settings you preselect. Autopilot will craft the perfect response to your emails based on preferences you set. This product comes straight out of Google’s CADIE, an artificial intelligence project.

Google touts Autopilot as the “easiest email ever” and offers the service not just for mail but also for chats. Autopilot allows users to set preferences, controlling things like capitalization, typos, brevity, and even emoticon use. Autopilot only needs to scan about 100 of your emails to mirror your style. Reportedly, the quality of responses via chats declines after three messages.

Lets find out some Sample Autopilot responses
Match your personal style:

Respond to business proposals:

The more Gmail messages Autopilot can sample, the better. With fewer than 100 messages, there may not be enough data to calibrate Autopilot effectively. You can adjust tone, typo propensity, and preferred punctuation from the Autopilot tab under Settings. You may want to log in every week or so to ensure Autopilot is calibrated optimally.

By altering the preferences, you can customize how your automatic emails will look. Some of these preferences include controls for emoticon use, typos, capitalization and more. After scanning through about a hundred of your emails, it should have a good idea of how you respond to messages.

Re: Google's GMail Autopilot
Chat was actually simpler to build, given the natural language headway made by Joseph Weizenbaum's ELIZA. While many claim ELIZA oft times passed the Turing test, Gmail Autopilot passes with 99.9% accuracy due to the inclusion of human-like qualities such as compassion and wisdom and CADIE's related ability to calibrate to match your chat style.

Re: Google's GMail Autopilot
If a sender and recipient both have Autopilot on their Gmail account, than the two Gmail accounts can happily converse with each other for up to three messages each. Beyond that, our experiments have shown a significant decline in the quality ranking of Autopilot's responses and further messages may commit you to dinner parties or baby namings in which you have no interest

Re: Google's GMail Autopilot
Google is celebrating Gmail's fifth birthday with an exciting new feature "Autopilot."

From now on, Google will do it for you. The service only offers about 100 canned messages at the moment, but with a number of setting adjustments.
