iChat buddies appear offline incorrectly
Hi,

I just had the problem with my ichat on my ibook. I am unable to see the buddy list on even when they are online. I can send and receive messages but they iChat buddies appear offline. Is this the issue with different versions of ichat program ????

Your iChat buddies must have logged in from AIM and Jabber. You must know that ichat does not support both AIM and Jabber, If you are trying to logging out of your AIM account through iChat and use the Username & Password for Jabber after selecting that option from iChat. Also, go to iChat --> Preferences --> Accounts. See if your Jabber account is setup correctly with the right username & password. I hope this will work for you.

If all Buddies on your ichat appear to be offline, then you may need to toggle your Privacy Level settings:

1. Open iChat.
2. From the iChat menu, choose Preferences.
3. Click Accounts.
4. Select your AIM account in the Account list.
5. Click Security.
6. Set your Privacy Level to something other than its current setting.
7. Set your Privacy Level to "Allow anyone".

Re: iChat buddies appear offline incorrectly
If all your iChat buddies appear offline incorrectly, try the following things:
1) Go to iChat/Preferences/Server Configuration
2) The default setting is 5190
3) Check if your 5190
4) If the value is 5190, click the text, and type in 443
5) Put 443 for all accounts to be used on that computer
6) If the port is already in 443, and its still not working then do the following: Go to Macintosh HD (hard disk on your desktop, name it differently if changed), go to Library, Preferences, and delete the file com.apple.ichat.aim.plist
