Is it needed to play first to understand The Darkness II?
Well I have not played previous title and I wanted to play The Darkness II. Is there any relation between the original title and current one? Let me know if you have played The Darkness II without playing the original title. Thanks a lot in advance.

After playing The Darkness II I came to know that it is a remake of the previous title. So it will be really helpful to understand story as well as gameplay part of the game if you have played previous title. Personally speaking you should play the original title. I am sure that you will definitely love to play above mentioned game.

I don’t think so there is much resemblance between The Darkness II and original title. Both the games are loosely tied with each other and hence I don’t think so there is need of playing original title to understand The Darkness II.

I could not understand why are you denying to play the Original title. According to me you should play the original title so that you can get the better idea of the core elements of the current version of the game. it will also help you to understand the relationship between Jackie and Jenny , Jackie and the Darkness as well. If you will play the original title then I am sure that you will enjoy it. all the controls are great in first title but in the second title it is highly improved. You will have lots of freedom while roaming in the city. You will be able to get development of Jackie and what happened with the people who were closed to Jackie.
