Legend of Grimrock does works on Ubuntu 11.10 wine
Hello friends, I was trying to play this game on Ubuntu 11.10 wine but it getting crashed, try to work it out for me, then also it not working, below is crash output from wine so just checked it, is there any method to make it work and is there anyone who is running this game in wine? Please do help me out with it. Thank you.

I would suggest you to add d3dx9_43.dll, just try adding this file, you can also do it after installing below attach file, just download and add to your game folder after that proceed with winetricks d3dx9_43. When you have done everything then remove all DLL overrides in winecfg. I have tried this same method which has worked for me, so I would recommend that you just try out and see it working for you or not.

I have done a testing of the game with wine 1.5.1 and it has worked properly with GoG version and I was also using Nvidia drivers with GTX 550 TI graphics card. I would like to tell that what I have done, such that I have used the winetricks so that it can install d3dx9, directx9, dxfullsetup and msvc100 files on to game folder. I have also done a clean install to check which directx setup is required for it, I have founded that there is requirement of dxfullsetup, earlier I was having a doubt about this and presently got sure with it, such that it requires to have mscv100 and dxfullsetup, so you better get both of them but I would suggest that do not use d3dx9, xact or directx9 with it, if you have installed it then remove it. it is also working in virtual desktop or fullscreen and if you are selecting fullscreen then better set your video memory size before start.
