Re: Which port to be use for Limewire
According to my best of knowledge, i think Limewire uses port 6346. Check any security programs installed on your computer to make sure that LimeWire is listed as an exception. Please check the documentation that came with your security software for instructions on how to allow LimeWire to connect.

Re: Which port to be use for Limewire
By default Limewire uses port 6346. For that you need to go to Tools, then select Options, then go to Advanced. In that click on Firewall config. Now you would be able to check the port number under "Listen on port". You can block anything from web pages to services and their ports by using the router.

Note: If you have a router you should update to Limewire 4.4 and up. With UPnP (universal plug and play), Limewire now does the port forwarding automatically for you when your router supports UPnP. Look into your manual or search google to see if your router is UPnP compliant.

Re: Which port to be use for Limewire
If you have any new version of limewire, then it has UPnPport so forwarding should be unnecessary. if you still want to forward, go to portforward website and follow the instructions. For those of you who are forwarding a port, you will also need to forward a port within limewire. You will need to use the same port no. in both the router device, any Firewall you use, limewire port setting & limewire Firewall setting. For Windows: Tools-->Options-->Advanced-->Firewall on your pc.
