>> Wednesday, June 15, 2011
The next beta version of Firefox 3.1 is expected on 18 February when
the first indiscretions on Firefox 3.2 filter.
The delay had been announced for the next test version of Firefox 3.1,
and hence for the publication of the final version. A new date has
been arrested and beta 3 of Firefox 3.1 is expected for Wednesday 18
February .... Next week then.
With Firefox 3.1, the Mozilla Foundation has yielded to the current
trend of personal navigation enhancement in Google Chrome, but this in
advance in Apple's Safari, which will be on hand in the version 8 of
Internet Explorer. Remember that this so-called private browsing
ensures the anonymity of a session of surfing the Internet vis-à-vis
another local user. Practice, but eventually there was no question of
anonymity on the Web.
Another objective of Firefox 3.1 is an increase of processing speed
via JavaScript engine TraceMonkey JIT technology-Tracing. Google
Chrome is also engaged in this race with its V8 engine, and Safari 4
with SquirrelFish Extreme. We know now that Opera also feeds great
ambitions at this level while IE8, will be an increase as compared IE7
browser but Microsoft will lag behind its competitors (Firefox 3.1,
Safari 4, Google Chrome).
For the beta 3 of Firefox 3.1, developers are focusing on support for
new Web technologies with the elements <vidéo> and <audio> HTML 5
integration for Ogg multimedia files. Firefox 3.1 will probably not be
available in first quarter 2009, but there is already talk of Firefox
3.2.
