HTC to launch touchscreen iPhone

HTC, manufacturer of the T-Mobile G1 smartphone, is set to launch a brand new phone touchscreen phone targeting the Apple iPhone and Palm's new Pre, according to a senior executive of Telstra via an exclusive report by Smarthouse.
The touchscreen and QWERTY–packing Pre stole the show at CES this year, with plenty of rabid gadget fans talking up the potential of its Web OS to give Apple a going over in 2009.

HTC's Android phone will most likely get its first airing at Mobile World Congress over in Barcelona for next month.
The organizers of the Consumer Electronics Show awarded Palm the best product award in the mobile phone and smartphone category as well as "Best in Show."
