Compass does not show exact direction in Legend of Grimrock
I am playing this game and not knowing regarding much about the game. When you will have a look in the game, the main question you will come across is the direction as you might also see that the directions along the wall are confusing and we will be with the same place where we had been previously. And there is a large possibility that you might mess and will not be able to play further if you are not with the correct directions or some map or an compass obviously. Initially, I was having some difficulty with the compass directions when playing in old school mode and was with some queries such as how to use the compass and found the compass in game but was not able to use it . later I was with that red points indicates to north as in normal compass . and I was going through the entire path correctly through the help of compass but When facing N or S the red point indicates the right direction as well as when I am facing East or West, it's the _black_ side which appears to be pointing in the right course. And I suppose that I am having some issues with the Compass. So can you guys tell me what could be the wrong thing which I met across.

I am also having same issues and I am on level 9 . I stopped using the compass in earlier times since it was driving me crazy; at the moment i thought to give it one more try. and it was still driving me crazy, and then i spent the time to figure out why. I'm completely sure it's broken. I have a friend with the same game and he is with the same case. We both agree, the compass doesn't labor. I attempted this on numerous levels, just to make certain I wasn't in some 'trap' or something like that.

so while playing in this game. If 'red' is pointing up, and when you tend it to turn right, red now points left.That simply can't occur. Red should be pointing right.If red is pointing up, it indicates that you are facing North, and if you turn right, red should point right, which is East direction. If for some cause grey and not red is the pointer, then if red is facing up in indicates that you are facing South, and if you turn right grey should be facing West . but that’s not the case. it's facing East. And it seems that the compass is broken , so how can I fix this one .

I made use if the compass and what I basically need to say is if red is pointing up, it indicates that you are going north. If you turn right, you are now going east, which indicates north is to the left of you. And the compass works in this way. To be fair, there are many and several games have 'compasses' on the side of the screen which indicates in the direction you are facing. So many of us are trained to wait for a 'game compass' to point in the course you're going vs. a 'true' compass which positions north. And unless you are playing no map mode a compass is useless. So hope you got something which will be useful in your case.

I also made some attempts with the compass to find the directions which are the main key to this game as we are totally confused by the path which is set. I was trying to make use of the compass to make sure which way I was facing but not able to get with it . if I was facing North, red will point to North. But as I was not sure regarding the working of the comapass , it came to my notice that it always points north and not in the direction I was facing, just like a real compass. Perception is key, and that unmarked little compass icon in my inventory was so similar to an usual video game compass .so finally I need to say that if you turn right and face East, red will point West since North is now West.i think you understood the concept of compass .
