Display settings are incorrect
The Java Runtime Environment (JRE) may not support the operating system and/or hardware configuration you are using
Required patches or hotfixes are not applied to your computer system
Browser version you are using may not be supported

Check the Microsoft Windows update Web site, and check for the latest updates and hotfixes available for your computer. In most cases, applying the latest patches and hotfixes resolves the browser crash issue. You can check for the latest updates available for your computer two different ways:

Select the Update Windows menu from your system Start menu. Follow the instructions on this page to install available updates.

The AOL Web browser does not fully support viewing Java technology based applets or applications online. If you use America Online (AOL) for Web access, you will be able to run applets better in external Web browsers. Try using Mozilla, Netscape, Opera or Internet Explorer. To get the best results when using AOL:

Connect to the Internet using AOL version 3.0 or higher
Open a private chat within AOL, which allows your AOL client to remain open without asking if you wish to disconnect while AOL is minimized
Minimize AOL

Another reason why a browser might crash is because of display settings. The JRE has a requirement of a minimum number of colors that your computer should support. Your minimum color settings should be 256 colors.
Following are the instructions to adjust the color settings of your computer.

Invoke the Control Panel by click the Start-->Settings-->Control Panel menu from the system Start menu. The Control Panel window appears.

Double click on the "Display" icon from "Control Panel" to navigate to the "Display Properties" screen. "Display Properties" screen appears.

Alternatively, the "Display Properties" window can be invoked by right-clicking the mouse on your "Desktop" and then selecting "Properties" menu from the pop up menu. In "Display Properties" window, click on the "Settings" tab. The "Settings" tab appears.

Set Colors to 256 or more colors supported by your system. The minimum color setting required is 256 colors. If the user has less colors selected (for example, 32 colors) then the JRE will crash which results in a crash of Internet Explorer.

There seems to be the some issue, with your operaing system .
So to resolve this , First of try to use , Last known good configuration or Restore point
if both these things didn't work , Try to use Sfc scan , but you , need operating system disk for this .
