Internet works, but browsers don't. Need Help!
I have some Issue related to my browsers (explorer, firefox or google) don't work on my desktop. The Error Message is "cannot display webpage". However, I am able to retrieve my email through outlook.

Sometimes I am able to get on the internet after resetting the computer, but the connection lasts for about ten minutes and then dies. My laptop works fine; it goes through the same router only it's wireless. I've run AVG. They cleaned up some stuff but the problem is still the same. They have not been updated in about a month, but will not be able to connect to update. Additionally, system restore has been turned off and it will not allow me to re enable it.
I have also tried reinstalling firefox. Reseting defaults on IE. Running in safe mode with networking. None of these work.

Any help would be appreciated.

I had the same problem with XP and IE7 and I had to do the following to fix it:

Following the direction.

1.Start - Run - regedit

2.HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Micr* osoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\explo* rer\BrowserHelper Objects

3.If you get there, you will see few keys(look like folders) that are in numbers and alphabets.
Delete all of them.
